Refund Policy

CPA Rights: This Refund Policy is issued in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") of South Africa. As a South African consumer, you have statutory rights under the CPA that cannot be waived or contracted out of. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights you have under the CPA or any other applicable legislation.

1 Overview

Range Hunter Pro ("Company", "we", "us") sells RangeHunterPro V2 as a digital software product in the form of a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor license. We are committed to ensuring that our customers are treated fairly and in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection law.

Because RangeHunterPro V2 is a digital software product that is activated and delivered electronically, refunds are governed by the specific provisions of the CPA applicable to electronic transactions and digital goods. This policy sets out the circumstances under which a refund may be granted, the process for requesting a refund, and the consequences of a refund being processed.

We encourage all prospective buyers to review our product documentation, risk disclosure, and terms carefully before purchasing. We also strongly recommend backtesting the strategy in MetaTrader 5's Strategy Tester and testing on a demo account before committing to a purchase.

2 Cooling-Off Period (CPA Section 44)

5 Business Day Cooling-Off Right: In accordance with Section 44 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, you have the right to cancel your purchase within 5 (five) business days of the date of purchase and receive a full refund, with no questions asked and no reason required.

The cooling-off period applies to electronic transactions (direct marketing and online sales) as defined in the CPA. The 5-business-day period commences on the date of purchase as reflected on your payment confirmation.

To exercise your cooling-off right, you must notify us in writing within the 5-business-day period using the process described in Section 4 of this policy. A refund exercised under the cooling-off right will be processed in full within 10 business days of us receiving your valid cancellation notice.

Upon processing a cooling-off refund, your License Key will be immediately deactivated and the Software will cease to function on your registered MT5 account.

3 Conditions for Refund

Eligible for Refund

  • Request within 5 business days of purchase (cooling-off, no reason required)
  • Software is materially defective and the defect cannot be remedied within a reasonable time after formal notification
  • The Software fundamentally does not function as described on the product page

Not Eligible for Refund

  • "I didn't make money" or "the strategy didn't perform as expected"
  • Losses incurred due to market conditions, broker conditions, or user error
  • Requests made after the 5-business-day cooling-off period where the Software functions as described
  • Change of mind after the cooling-off period has expired
  • Issues caused by your broker, MT5 platform, or internet connectivity
  • Failure to read the product documentation, Terms, or Risk Disclosure prior to purchase

Material Defect (Post Cooling-Off)

After the 5-business-day cooling-off period, a refund may be considered only where the Software contains a material defect — meaning a technical fault in the Software itself that causes it to fail to perform its core documented functionality — and where the Company is unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable time (no more than 15 business days from formal written notification of the defect).

The following do not constitute a material defect for refund purposes:

  • The Software's trading algorithm producing losses or not meeting your personal profit expectations.
  • Performance differences between backtested results and live trading results (which are explicitly disclaimed).
  • Compatibility issues arising from broker-specific conditions, non-standard MT5 configurations, or operating environments not supported by the Software.
  • Temporary outages of the license server that do not result in permanent loss of Software functionality.

4 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please submit a written refund request by email to [email protected] with the subject line "Refund Request — [Your License Key]".

Your refund request email must include the following information:

Order Reference or Payment Confirmation

Include your order number, invoice number, or payment confirmation email reference so we can locate your purchase.

License Key

Provide your License Key as issued at the time of purchase.

MT5 Account Number

Provide the MetaTrader 5 account number to which your license was registered.

Reason for Refund

State whether you are exercising your 5-business-day cooling-off right (no reason required) or whether you are reporting a material defect (describe the defect in detail).

Date of Purchase

Confirm the date on which you made the purchase to assist us in determining eligibility under the cooling-off period.

We will acknowledge receipt of your refund request within 2 business days and communicate our decision within 5 business days of receiving all required information.

5 Processing & Timeline

Where a refund is approved, the following process and timelines apply:

  • Processing Time: Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of the date on which the refund is confirmed in writing by the Company.
  • Payment Method: Refunds will be returned via the same payment method used for the original purchase. We are unable to refund to a different payment method or to a different person than the original purchaser.
  • License Deactivation: Your License Key will be deactivated on the day your refund is confirmed. The Software will cease to function on your registered MT5 account from that date.
  • Currency: Refunds are processed in the original currency of the transaction. The Company is not responsible for any foreign exchange rate differences or bank conversion fees incurred in receiving the refund.

Please note that while we will process the refund promptly on our end, the time for funds to appear in your account will depend on your payment provider and bank and may take additional time beyond our processing period.

6 Chargebacks

Important: Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment provider without first contacting Range Hunter Pro to resolve the matter constitutes a breach of these Terms. We strongly encourage you to contact us at [email protected] before initiating any payment dispute.

In the event of an unauthorised or fraudulent chargeback:

  • Your License Key will be immediately and permanently deactivated without notice.
  • Your account will be blacklisted from future purchases from Range Hunter Pro.
  • We reserve the right to dispute the chargeback with evidence of the valid license purchase, activation, and use.
  • We reserve the right to pursue recovery of any associated costs, fees, and losses through appropriate legal channels.

Where a chargeback is initiated by a consumer exercising a legitimate statutory right under the CPA or applicable payment network rules following a genuine dispute that the Company has failed to resolve, this clause shall not apply.

7 License Termination Upon Refund

You expressly acknowledge and agree that upon the approval and processing of a refund (for any reason, including under the cooling-off period):

  • Your License Key will be immediately and permanently deactivated.
  • The RangeHunterPro V2 Software will cease to function on your registered MT5 account.
  • All rights granted to you under the Terms and Conditions in respect of the Software will terminate.
  • You are required to remove the Software from your MetaTrader 5 platform.
  • No re-activation of the refunded License Key will be possible. If you wish to use the Software again, a new license must be purchased.

8 Exceptions — Circumstances Where No Refund Will Be Granted

Notwithstanding any other provision of this policy, no refund (including under the cooling-off period) will be granted in the following circumstances:

  • License Abuse: Where the license or License Key has been shared with, transferred to, or used by any person or entity other than the original purchaser, in breach of the Terms and Conditions.
  • Banned or Terminated Accounts: Where the purchaser's account has been terminated by Range Hunter Pro due to a breach of the Terms and Conditions prior to the refund request.
  • Tampering: Where there is evidence that the User has attempted to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the Software.
  • Fraudulent Activity: Where the purchase or refund request is determined to be fraudulent or made in bad faith.

The Company reserves the right to deny a refund request where there is reasonable evidence of the above. Any determination by the Company in this regard is subject to the rights of the consumer under the CPA, including the right to refer disputes to the National Consumer Commission or relevant consumer tribunal.

We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within 2 business days and provide a decision within 5 business days of receiving all required information. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays.

If you are not satisfied with our response to your refund request, you may have the right to refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission or the relevant Consumer Court in your province under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
